Come see sand shrub prairie, beaver pond, prairie and savanna in the lakebed of Glacial Lake Wauponsee. Long walk on sandy fire breaks and off trail to see Meadow Beauty, Yellow-Eyed Grass and many other species of these rare communities. Wear sturdy pants, boots and bug spray, as brambles, ticks and chiggers live here. Afterwards we will retire to the Korner Keg in Braidwood to wet our whistles, nosh and socialize.
