About Membership
MEMBERSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT
We are currently experiencing technical issues with our membership system. The INPS Governing Board is actively working to resolve these problems. If you have recently tried to renew your membership and encountered problems, you are not alone. For the time being, we ask that anyone experiencing renewal issues – or prospective members wishing to join – please use the Printable Membership Form.
If you have questions about your membership status or expiration date, please contact us at membership@illinoisplants.org.
We are working to resolve these issues as quickly as possible and will provide updates once a solution is in place. Please note that changes to our membership system will follow as a result of these improvements. Thank you for your patience and for your continued support of native plants, conservation, and community across Illinois.

The Illinois Native Plant Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, statewide organization. Membership contributions help us provide resources and experiences related to our mission of studying, appreciating, and conserving Illinois’ native flora and natural communities.
Printable Membership Form (download, print, and send via mail) – This does not grant access to website features, such as community forums and account management. If you complete registration by mail, you can send your account updates to membership@illinoisplants.org or mail a request.
As a member, you will receive:
- Erigenia, the peer-reviewed scientific journal of INPS
- The Harbinger, our quarterly newsletter (electronic format)
- Chapter newsletters
- Discounted admission to the Annual Gathering, hosted by a different chapter each year
- Notifications of field trips, meetings, presentations, workshops, and other events
- Priority RSVP to events for some chapters when attendance is limited
New memberships and renewals occurring after August 2024 will renew automatically; you can cancel anytime. Annual INPS membership renews each year on the date of registration and includes the following categories:
